How to convert PDF to Word in WPS Office
Do this on the desktop app when the file is sensitive. Preview the first pages before you pay. Free conversion is a short page range. Scanned PDFs need OCR and may still look messy.
Step 1
Open the PDF in WPS
Drag the file onto WPS Office or use Open. If it fails, see PDF not opening. A 2 KB file is almost always a failed download.
Step 2
Start PDF to Word
Go to Tools, then PDF to Word. Set language for better OCR. Choose a save folder you will find later.
Step 3
Preview before Premium
Check pages 1-5 on the free cap. Long contracts usually need Premium. Multi-column magazines and stamps rarely convert cleanly. Do not upload a thesis to a random website if local WPS can do it.
Step 4
Fix the Word file
Tables and headers often need a pass in Writer. Save as .docx. If the PDF was a scan, expect to retype a few lines rather than trust every OCR word.
Why layout looks messy
